Federal Health Minister Dr. Philipp Rösler was this year’s guest speaker at the annual meeting of the Market Economy Foundation and the Kronberg Kreis in Kronberg im Taunus.
He thanked the Foundation and the Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Schweickart for the ability to discuss economic and health policy questions with the friends of the Foundation and he explained his plans for reform of public health insurance financing.
“Nobody has so systematically caricatured the world of economics and finance as Martin Suter,” said Prof. Theo Siegert, head of the Foundation’s supervisory board in his congratulatory speech to Mr. Suter.
The prize, which is named after the Irish satirist Jonathan Swift, honors creative discourse about freedom, competition, and individual responsibility.
The Swift Prize includes an award of €10,000 and has been previously awarded to Volker Reich, author of the comic strip “STRIZZ.”
An extensive report about the annual meeting in Kronberg is available in the latest edition of Blickpunkt Marktwirtschaft.
