The official speaker of the 2008 annual meeting in Kronberg was Dr. Bernhard Heitzer, the president of the Federal Antitrust Agency (pictured above right). He lamented lapses in the Ordnungspolitik, such as the minimum wage at Deutsche Post AG, and criticized teh commotion surrounding foreign sovereign wealth funds as unreasonable, especially considering that the creation of a practical review process for foreign investments is problematic. He subsequently commended the new bonus program rewarding whistleblowers, which has proven to be an important instrument in the fight against illegal collusive arrangements regarding competition over price, sales quotas, and market share.
