Jens Weidmann receives Wolfram-Engels-Prize

 

 

 

Stiftung Marktwirtschaft honors the president of Deutsche Bundesbank (German central bank) Jens Weidmann for his regulative consistent position, especially during the eurozone crisis. The Wolfram-Engels-Prize is initiated and endowed by the informedia foundation.

During the 2014 spring meeting of Stiftung Marktwirtschaft on March 28th in Kronberg, the Wolfram-Engels-Prize was awarded to Dr. Jens Weidmann, president of Deutsche Bundesbank. The jury honored his focus on monetary stability and the principle of independency of the central banks.

The acceptance speech was entitled: “Market economy principles in monetary union”.
